Indonesia seeks Arab League support to its FAO bid

Indonesia urged the Arab League to back its candidate for the position of Director General of the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), Indroyono Soesilo on Friday.
This came during a meeting between the Middle East personal advisor of the Indonesian president, Alawi Shihab and the Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa.

Shihab told reporters that his visit was aimed at rallying the support of Arab League member nations of the Indonesian candidate for FAO Presidency.
He indicated that the meeting also discussed relations between his country and the Arab world, he described as exceptional.
He also said that Moussa on this issue, intended to send one of his advisors to Indonesia, regarding this a good step towards supporting relations between the two regions.
